XOMD joins a Prestigious Club! With Two Design Awards!

Some moments remind you why you dared to do things differently. For XOMD, this is one of them. We are proud to share that our packaging and product design have been recognized with two international Muse Design Awards—a Gold in Product Design and a Silver in Packaging Design.

These honors place us among a select group of brands that see design not as decoration, but as destiny. From the very beginning, we set out to challenge conventions—to build skincare that feels as extraordinary in your hand as it does on your skin. Every curve, finish, and detail was intentional. Every choice was made to embody the intimacy, confidence, and connection at the heart of XOMD.

Winning these awards is more than recognition—it’s proof that daring to reimagine what skincare can be was worth every late night, every iteration, and every risk we took to bring this vision to life.

Why Packaging Matters

Our physician-founders, Dr. Sabrina Fabi and Dr. Steven Dayan, built their careers in aesthetics, where beauty and precision are inseparable. That philosophy became the foundation for our packaging journey. They refused to see packaging as a “wrapper” for the product—it had to be part of the experience. It had to reflect the science, artistry, and soul of XOMD.

That mindset led us down a path most brands would never attempt—custom designed and engineered packaging. We spent two full years exploring, testing, and re-engineering until every element felt right. The result? Packaging that is distinctive and uncompromising – elegant but practical.

Learning from the Consumer

Before we committed to designs, we worked with our branding agency to understand how women interact with skincare packaging. Through observational research, we studied how people opened, held, and used products from existing brands. We paid attention to what they loved—the feeling of a soft-touch finish, the convenience of pumps—and what frustrated them, from messy jars to snap-on caps that come off the products when traveling.

These insights became our blueprint. They helped us understand not just what was beautiful, but what was meaningful in practice. In other words, our consumers weren’t just the end users of XOMD—they were co-creators in shaping the experience.

Every Detail, Examined

The list of decisions we faced in our packaging project was daunting. But instead of shortcuts, we embraced the challenge. At the heart of our design are two symbols: the X and the O. They are more than shapes. They are hugs and kisses. Masculine and feminine. Boldness and softness. Connection and intimacy. Our serum and moisturizer bottles bring those symbols to life in three dimensions—packaging that doesn’t just protect product, but also embodies the very essence of our brand.

  • Inventing the X. Serum bottles typically come in stock shapes. But we envisioned an X. No one made one. So we built it. Perfecting the molds took months, but the result is iconic and uniquely ours. The X represents strength, boldness, and precision—qualities that define both our brand and our formulations.
  • Reimagining the O. Traditional spherical moisturizer jars don’t contain pumps and expose formulas to contamination. We didn’t accept that. We designed the world’s first spherical jar with a pump—a feat that required custom engineering and months of development. The O became both functional and symbolic: a circle of protection, purity, and embrace.
  • Cohesion across the family. Our cleanser didn’t need an airless pump, but we invested in one to keep it aligned with our serum and moisturizer. We even calculated bottle heights so cartons would stand in perfect harmony on a shelf.
  • Material as science, not just aesthetics. We evaluated multiple substrates to ensure none would interfere with our ingredients and formulations. This was chemistry, not decoration.
  • Alignment as art. We wanted engraved lines from our logo to run seamlessly across bottles and caps. That required engineering lids that screw on with precision so lines match every time.
  • The pursuit of touch. Soft touch finishes often feel luxurious, but they can gum up when paired with engraved surfaces. We worked with our packaging vendor to inject soft touch directly into the plastic itself—a detail invisible to the eye, but unforgettable to the hand.

Even the invisible was considered: drop tests for durability, specific gravity calculations to optimize fill weights, fluted liners inside cartons to stabilize product during shipping, and dozens of iterations to refine color, texture, and typography placement.

Passion in Motion

The story of our packaging is also the story of relentless pursuit. In the very beginning, we sent our Chief Commercial Officer Allyson McGrail to Cosmoprof in Las Vegas to conduct research. While most people attending Cosmoprof walk away with suitcases full of the latest beauty product samples, Allyson spent days at Cosmoprof in Las Vegas meeting with nothing but packaging vendors—hour after hour, booth after booth.

Early prototypes were scrapped, colors recalibrated, finishes rejected, and components resized. At one point, our moisturizer jar was nearly the size of a softball. We went back to the engineers until it was just right.

Many people told us to go with a simpler route, questioning whether custom packaging was worth the cost, the complexity, and the delays it caused to our launch. But we believed perfection was worth the wait. And in the end, we couldn’t be prouder of the result. Pushing for custom design wasn’t just the right decision—it was the only decision worthy of XOMD.

A Founder’s Perspective

For Dr. Fabi, this achievement is especially personal.

“I come from a family of artists and designers,” says Dr. Fabi. “For me, this was more than just packaging. It was a personal testament to how my artform comes to life—both as a dermatologist and as the owner of a skincare company. The details, the lines, the textures…they all matter, because they’re part of the story we’re telling through XOMD.”

Her vision, paired with the team’s persistence, is what transformed obstacles into opportunities and turned packaging into a canvas for innovation.

Geletka Team

We also owe a big shout out to the Creative agency at Geletka+, https://geletkaplus.com/ who was with us every step of the way. They helped refine and bring our vision to life!

Why These Awards Matter

To win two Muse Design Awards is an honor. But what makes it meaningful is that these awards recognize the sweat, science, and soul behind our packaging. They affirm that beauty and functionality can coexist—that design can be as purposeful as it is striking.

For us, packaging was never an afterthought. It was an essential part of our mission: to create products that give people better skin, better confidence, and better intimacy.

When you hold an XOMD product, you’re not just holding skincare—you’re holding years of thought, innovation, and passion, shaped into forms that symbolize connection itself.
