Background: Menopause-related skin changes can affect confidence and well-being, while treatment interests across countries are incompletely characterized.
Methods: An online survey included 4,303 perimenopausal or menopausal women aged 45–60 across nine countries.
Results: Participants most often reported wrinkles or fine lines (59%), loss of firmness or elasticity (58%), dryness (56%), and duller skin tone (40%). Fifteen percent had used specialist aesthetic treatment for menopause-related concerns; 88% of those users were satisfied or very satisfied. A health care professional recommendation was a reported motivation to seek aesthetic treatment (46%).
Conclusions: Menopause-related skin concerns are widespread and can affect self-perception. The findings point to a role for clinical guidance when patients consider treatments.
