Abstract

Feature article exploring the psychosocial dermal axis as a neurologically embodied communication pathway between the skin and brain. The article argues that psychiatry, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine should unite around a broader understanding of skin as a communicative, sensory, and psychosocial organ, including possible subconscious signaling related to beauty, threat perception, confidence, and social connection.
